Gourmet PopcornOur featured roses this week might make your tummy grumble...Our main rose of the week has one of the best names- Gourmet Popcorn. This Mini shrub rose has puffed white cluster blooms with butter yellow centers. This inspired us to look into more funky food & edible rose names... Berries ' n' CremeFried EggMarmaladeHot CocoaBrownieCreme BruleeJune 6th was quite the wedding crazy weekend...amidst a few corporate events, we managed to design some of our favorite weddings this season! Here are some awesome staff-snapped shots of two of the weekend's events- a lavish garden style DC wedding, and a stunning soft and rustic Maryland wedding, for two of the absolute sweetest brides! With ceremony in the gardens with a giant birch and floral arch, our beautiful bride Janani threw her "Little Green man meets Vegas" style wedding at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington DC. The reception featured various style centerpieces all tied together with the "fresh from the garden" look. Wrought iron, vine balls, and bright pink blooms galore created her tablescape designs with her deep olive linens with gold Venetian chargers. We even gave a few tables height with wrought iron trees draped in foliage and purple orchids & accented with crystal drips. We can't WAIT for the professional photos! For our adorable & down-to-earth bride, Erin, we created some more simple & sweet designs with a touch of rustic flair. With vintage bottles she collected herself, we filled them with seasonal wildflowers in soft pastel tones that went great with her dusty grey linens. Held at the Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery in Thurmont, MD, we can never get enough of the to-die-for lighting fixtures complete with wine glasses! Each table had an eclectic arrangement of wrought iron candle stands and lanterns to match. That's a Wrap! The rose of the week is the beautiful blush Sweetheart Rose. Roses have symbolized marriage since antiquity, & the sweetheart rose made for the perfect bouquet for a beloved beau.
Not to mention its blush pink color - a highly popular shade in weddings for years to come. Here are some other fun modern romance rose relatives.... |
